Dermal fillers

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE

About the procedure

Dermal fillers are temporary dermal fillers in gel form that are injected under the skin with a very thin needle in small amounts, measured in millilitres. They usually contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the human body, the amount of which decreases with age, and therefore it is replenished with the use of dermal fillers. This procedure can restore volume to the skin and facial features, fill lines and wrinkles, improve facial contours or shape lips to create a fuller and more luxurious look.

 Application areas:

• Area of nasolabial wrinkles (wrinkles that start from the nose and end at the corners of the lips): approx. 1ml
• Around the lips ( to smooth out or remove wrinkles): less than 1ml
• Forehead (to smooth out or remove wrinkles): approx. 1ml
• Around the eyes (to smooth out or remove wrinkles around the eyes): 0.5-1ml on each side
• Under the eyes (to smooth out or remove dark circles under the eyes): 0.5ml on each side
• Lips (contouring, reshaping, augmentation): from 0.6ml to 1.5ml
• Cheekbones and cheeks (contouring, shaping, augmentation): from 1ml to 1.5ml per side
• Nose (non-surgical nose correction): about 1ml
• Cleavage, chest and hands (filling wrinkles and restoring a youthful appearance): approx. 1ml for the cleavage and chest, from 0.5 to 1 ml per side for the hands.

Effects of therapy:

Depending on the needs of the patient and the area being treated, Dermal fillers fill and remove static wrinkles, reduce or remove dark circles under the eyes, shape and contour the lips and cheekbones, fill and give volume to the lips or cheekbones, correct facial asymmetries, restore tone, elasticity and volume to the skin.

Candidates for Dermal fillers:

This treatment is an excellent option for patients who want to correct certain asymmetries of the facial features or achieve a fresh, youthful appearance, by filling and smoothing the wrinkles of the face, neck, cleavage and chest, adding volume to the lips or contouring the lips or face.

Duration of therapy:

Depending on the needs of each patient and the area being treated, Dermal fillers can last from several months to over a year. For optimal results, it is best to determine a long-term maintenance strategy with a treatment plan and schedule.

Duration of treatment:

Applying the Dermal fillers lasts 30-40 minutes. After the treatment, you should avoid touching, rubbing or applying physical pressure on the treated area, as well as avoid drinking alcohol, wearing make-up, and engaging in physical activity for the next 24 hours. After the procedure, Dr Konstantinos gives his patients all the necessary information in written form about what they should pay attention to, what to avoid and what to do in order for the therapy to have an optimal effect.

Side effects:

Irritation or slight edema (swelling) or bruising is possible, which is completely normal and usually subsides in 24-48 hours. In the case of the lips it can last a little longer.

Combining with other therapies:

Depending on the needs of the patient, the condition of the skin and other factors, Dermal fillers can be combined with other treatments. They are often combined with Botox when treating deep wrinkles.
